Protective Floor Coating Group
Abrasion-, chemical- and impact-resistant coatings for car park, factory and warehouse floors.
System
Epoxy- and polyurethane-based
Application
Roller, trowel, squeegee
Environment
Car parks, factories, warehouses, commercial areas
What is the Protective Floor Coating Group?
Protective floor coatings protect concrete floors against abrasion, chemical attack and impact while preventing dusting and creating easy-to-clean, attractive surfaces. Depending on the intensity of use, solutions range from thin-film paint coatings to self-leveling systems several millimeters thick.
Epoxy-based systems stand out in areas with forklift traffic such as factories and warehouses, while polyurethane-based systems are preferred in open car parks and UV-exposed areas. Anti-slip properties can be added with quartz sand, and area use can be organized with road lines and markings.
Key Features
- Prevents dusting
- Easy to clean, hygienic surface
- Resistant to abrasion and forklift traffic
- Chemical and oil resistance
- Anti-slip surface option
- Compatible with lane lines and markings
Protection layer by layer
Primer
An epoxy primer that penetrates the pores of the concrete, consolidates the surface and ensures adhesion of the coating.
Intermediate / Leveling Coat
Depending on requirements, a quartz-filled intermediate coat or a self-leveling layer increases thickness and durability.
Topcoat and Markings
A colored, easy-to-clean topcoat, followed by lane lines, parking bays and directional markings.
Where is it used?
The right start, a long life
- 01
Concrete must be at least 28 days old, with surface moisture below the limit recommended by the manufacturer.
- 02
Laitance, oil and loose particles must be removed by diamond grinding or shot blasting.
- 03
Cracks and voids must be repaired with a suitable repair mortar and the surface completely freed of dust.
What to watch out for during application
- 01
The mixture must be prepared with a mechanical mixer at the ratio given in the technical data sheet.
- 02
In self-leveling systems, a spiked roller should be used to release air bubbles.
- 03
The coating must not be opened to vehicle traffic until fully cured.
Mixing ratio, pot life and recoat intervals vary by product; the product's technical data sheet should always be used for exact values.
