What is the 2K Acrylic Group?
2K acrylic paints are two-component systems that cure when the acrylic resin reacts with an isocyanate-based hardener. The resulting film offers high gloss, a full-bodied appearance and strong color consistency.
They are widely used as topcoats and clear coats in automotive refinishing, and as durable, decorative topcoats for commercial vehicles, truck bodies and machinery. Their fast drying, combined with an oven or spray booth, speeds up workflow in workshops.
Key Features

Where is it used?
The right start, a long life
- 01
The surface must be cleaned of oil, rust and dirt with a silicone remover.
- 02
Old paint and primer should be sanded progressively with grit sizes suited to each layer.
- 03
Areas not to be painted must be masked, and a final cleaning done with a tack cloth.
What to watch out for during application
- 01
Paint, hardener and thinner must be prepared at the mixing ratio given in the technical data sheet.
- 02
Application should take place in a dust-free, well-ventilated spray booth.
- 03
Observe the recommended flash-off time between coats and use the correct nozzle size and pressure.
Mixing ratio, pot life and recoat intervals vary by product; the product's technical data sheet should always be used for exact values.
